Joel has been the Director of Coaching for the Soccer Club since 2016.  He is an accomplished youth player with  national titles for Sporting Portugal. He coached and learned from two of the most successful youth academies in the world (Ajax Amsterdam’s and Sporting’s) that helps oversee the Club’s day to day operations and to adapt to the future of soccer in the USA.

In the US Joel worked for NY Red Bulls and for the biggest youth club in NY state before moving to Cleveland. Before soccer Joel worked several years in the film industry as an assistant director and had soccer as a hobby. Nowadays soccer is again the job and Film is the hobby.

Joel speaks 8 languages which is extremely useful when communicating with his cat, Bunny.
